Annual BYU Management Society Leadership Conference

Dear BYU Management Society Leader,

We are pleased to invite you to attend our annual BYU Management Society Leadership Conference for 2009.  We hope to provide a day and a half that will help your chapter realize its full potential in reaching toward our vision of “growing moral and ethical leadership around the world.”  Our theme for this conference is “Excellence Through Membership Benefits and Services.”

This annual event will take place on 1-2 October at Aspen Grove and the Tanner Building.  We will begin with lunch at noon on Thursday and will conclude by 4:00 pm on Friday, in hopes to work around your weekend schedules with family, mission reunions, BYU football game, and LDS General Conference sessions.

All chapter executive committee and board members are invited.  However, we especially encourage chapter presidents and presidents-elect to attend!  We view this as a critical learning, mentoring, and idea-sharing opportunity to move our society forward.  You’ll share your own success stories, hear about the best practices, gain new tools, and join in celebrating progress.  In addition, several “big picture” ideas and hard-working tactical elements will be presented.

This year, the Thursday evening keynote speaker for the conference will be C. Terry Warner, BYU Professor of Philosophy and author of Leadership and Self-Deception, Bonds that Make Us Free.  In addition, Rixa C. Oman, Management Society Executive Director will be our Benson Award recipient and speaker at the opening session on Thursday.  We will also be pleased to hear from the Marriott School Dean, Gary C. Cornia.  We hope these events will make this year especially memorable.

This year we have the added excitement of a BYU vs. USU football game on Friday, October 2nd at 7:00 pm. We have arranged for a special block of tickets that conference attendees can purchase for $25 each.  Information on how to obtain tickets will be posted on the conference registration website.
